  • Aspen Sigma How could Sigma reduce their vendor base to benefit from increased economies of scale.

Herron

Herron

Problem

An iconic Australian brand needed a slick supply model.  Sigma had just purchased the assets of iconic brand owner, Herron. Like all acquisition’s, Sigma’s challenge was to deliver synergies to their business from these new products. One of their highest volume and best known products, Herron Paracetamol, was being manufactured from components sourced from multiple suppliers and countries. To drive cost out of their supply chain, Sigma engaged Colorpak to take up the Pharmakit model.

Solution

Rather than source a carton from one supplier, a printed foil from another, and a plastic blister seal from yet another, Sigma aligned its Herron products with Colorpak’s Pharmakit model. They were able to source multiple printed and plain components from the one certified, highly reputable pharmaceutical focussed business.

Outcome

Sigma gained large synergy cost benefits from sourcing all components from under the Pharmakit umbrella. It also effectively reduced its ongoing audit and compliance costs by rationalising multiple suppliers to a single source. Sigma reduced the level of incoming inspections for the same reason. One vendor, one reliable certified source – Pharmakit. Helping pharmaceutical brands stay ahead.
